30 Hours Funding

First Steps Nursery are pleased to offer up to 30 hours funded childcare for all 3 and 4 year olds for eligible working families. If eligible for up to 30 hours government funding you may be entitled to up to 1,140 hours per year.

Eligible parents will be able to access up to 30 funded hours from the beginning of the term following your child’s 3rd birthday. Funding is available stretched throughout the year or term time only.

15 Hours Funding

All children aged 3 and 4 and some children aged 2 are eligible for 15 hours a week of funding for 38 weeks of the year stretched throughout the year.

Eligibility for 3 and 4 year olds: All children will be offered 15 hours a week in the term following their third birthday. 

Eligibility for 2 year olds: From Apr 2024 – Up to 15 hours for eligible working families in England with a 2-year-old. 


Early Years Pupil PremiumThe Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) is additional funding for early years settings to improve the education they provide for disadvantaged 3- and 4-year-olds. Early years providers are any organisation offering education for children aged under 5, including nurseries and childminders.

Eligibility3- and 4-year-olds in state-funded early education will attract EYPP funding if they meet certain criteria. Click here to find out more.
